Keeping business and personal money apart in one app
Free · My business is Premium
Freelancers and small-business owners pay for both lives from the same wallet. ZeniCash lets one book hold both: a Professional mark on every record, reports that filter on it, an accountant package that takes only the business side — and, for people who only need one side, a way to switch the distinction off.
The Professional mark
Every movement, account, category, budget, document and project has a Professional button. Marked, the record enters the business reports and the accountant package; unmarked, it is personal. The dashboard has a three-way filter — PRO · BOTH · PERS — to read one side or the two together.
Three modes
In Settings › Formats › Professional:
- Both — each record chooses. The default.
- Personal only — the mark disappears from the app.
- Business only — everything recorded is born professional: the button shows on and cannot be turned off; the personal side (its categories, the account switch, the PRO/BOTH/PERS filter) goes out of view.
The two exclusive modes mirror each other, and in both, everything you read — dashboard, movements, documents and current accounts, schedules, budgets, reports — shows only the active side. The Professional vs personal comparison in reports exists only in Both. Switching a side off deletes nothing.
My business (Premium)
Store the company name and tax number once and the app recognises documents that are the company's, classifying them as professional without asking. This is also where Use only for the business is switched on and where the logo is imported: it appears in the top-left corner of exported professional documents; without an image, the company name with the tax number under it appears instead.
What the mark does downstream
- Reports: by category, entity or project, on one side or with the professional-vs-personal comparison.
- The accountant package: Professional only is a saved choice — the personal side never reaches the accountant.
- Documents: an invoice issued to the company is professional; one issued to you is personal. A document created from a movement takes that movement's side.
Questions
- Do I need two accounts or two apps to separate business and personal?
- No. One book: every movement, account, budget and document carries a professional/personal mark, and reports and the accountant package filter on it.
- What happens to old records if I switch the mark off?
- Nothing. Records already marked stay marked, and the business reports and the accountant package remain available as long as there is professional history. What stops is marking new things.
- I paid a personal lunch with the company card — which mode?
- Both. It exists precisely for that: each record chooses its side.
