For freelancers and the self-employed

You do the work. Chasing the money should not be a second job.

Who still owes you, which receipt goes with which payment, what was business and what was lunch — and, at month-end, an accountant asking for all of it. ZeniCash keeps that book on the phone you already carry, and hands it over in one file.

Who owes you, and since when

Every customer has a current account. Record the invoice you issued — number, amount, due date calculated from the customer's payment term — and the balance is there: what is open, what is overdue, in amber, in the list. A payment settles it in one move; a partial payment leaves the rest visible. Nothing to reconcile by memory.

Receipts that read and file themselves

Aim the camera and the supplier, tax number, document number, date and amount are read on the phone, before the photo is even taken. The receipt is attached to the expense; the invoice it belongs to goes with the document in the current account. From the second receipt of the same supplier, the app knows where to look.

Business and personal, one account

A freelancer pays for both lives from the same card. Mark the expense as Professional and it enters the business side without a second account, a second app or a spreadsheet. Reports show either side or both; the accountant package takes only the business.

The accountant package

Pick the period and the accounts. One ZIP: a PDF per movement sorted by account, the invoice documents in their own folder, and a spreadsheet with every account and customer statement — dates and amounts the accountant can sort and sum. Choose whether each document carries a strip with the movement's details, or goes exactly as scanned. The choice is remembered.

Will there be money at the end of the month?

The forecast adds what is recorded, what repeats, the invoices still to be paid and what you plan, and warns on the day the balance would go negative — before it does.

Questions

Is it accounting software?
No. It is the book you keep between visits to the accountant: what came in, what went out, who owes what, with the receipts attached — and one file that hands all of it over. Your accountant does the accounts; you stop doing the hunting.
Does it issue invoices?
No. It records the invoices you issue from your invoicing software and the bills you receive, and tracks what is paid. In most countries a legal invoice needs certified software; ZeniCash sits next to it.
I have one bank account for everything. Does that work?
Yes. The business/personal split is a mark on each movement, not a second account. Mark the business expenses; the reports and the accountant package filter on the mark.
What is free, and what do freelancers usually pay for?
Logging, receipts as attachments, 3 accounts, budgets and the forecast are free. Freelancers usually go Premium for receipt reading, customers and current accounts, and the accountant package.
